SOUVENIR

by Bush Moukarzel

after Marcel Proust
(with Theodor Adorno, Walter Benjamin, T S Eliot, William Shakespeare,
Don DeLillo, Charlie Kaufman and Orson Welles.)

“It’s human to seek out what hurts us”

— Marcel Proust

Souvenir tells the story of a life through a freewheeling exploration of
memory, jealousy and time. Music, magic tricks, goldfish, Shakespeare, Beyoncé,
Bruce Springsteen and Proust collide in an attempt to compress the longest
novel ever written into 55 minutes.

Souvenir opened September 2012 at the New Theatre, Dublin, as part of Dublin Fringe
